Environmental Policy Following the move to our new factory we have taken the opportunity to carry out a review of our working practices and to establish a fully responsible basis on which our company can operate. One area we have taken particular interest in is our environmental policy which we keep under constant review and develop as fully as possible. PAPER
Our paper supplies are sourced from recognised environmentally conscious mills. The decision to purchase is based on the papers credentials and suitability even if it is a little bit more expensive. Our minimum requirements are usually Totally Chlorine Free or Elemental Chlorine Free, Fully Recyclable and wherever possible to carry the Nordic Swan Environmental or equivalent label. Recycled papers are available on request. 

PRESS CHEMICALS
Wherever possible we are switching to more environmentally friendly press chemicals. We are currently testing HDP’s New range of Enviro products. [www.hdp.co.uk]

PACKAGING 
As far as possible paper based packaging is used as the material is a renewable resource crop, is easily recycled and successfully biodegradable.

CHEMICAL WASTE
Plate developer is disposed of through a recognised waste disposal contractor. Currently we use J & G Environmental. [www.jg-environmental.com]

FILM AND PLATE WASTE
Used plates are disposed of through J & G Environmental and recycled. Film waste is no longer produced as we now operate a computer to plate system.

PAPER WASTE
Paper waste including office waste is collected for recycling by Martock Waste Paper. [www.martockwastepaper.co.uk]

Pallets are returned

OTHER WASTE
The small amount of other waste produced is disposed of through SITA (UK) Ltd who have a strong environmental policy and further sort all waste before allowing only inert materials to be disposed of through landfill. [www.sita.co.uk]

GENERAL CLEANING PRODUCTS
The ECOVER Ecological range of general cleaning products are used wherever possible to reduce the amount of chemicals such as phosphates, chlorine and petrochemicals surfactants all generally found in household cleaners and bleaches, and all harmful to life.
